Azealia Banks Fires Back at T.I. for Defending Iggy Azalea

Azealia Banks calls T.I. “corny” as he comes to the aid of his new protégé, Iggy Azalea.

T.I. recently stepped in the middle of an ongoing war of words between upstart female rappers Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks, coming down firmly on the side of the former, whose debut album he is currently executive producing.

During a radio interview with Atlanta’s DJ Drama where he was joined by Iggy, T.I. responded to comments by Banks, who criticized the Australian for referring to her as a "runaway slave master" in a rhyme and argued that she was underserving of her recent selection for the cover of XXL's "Freshmen 2012" cover.

“Strategically, if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that, you know, she'll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she'll still be a freshman," T.I. quipped. "Which brings me to my next philosophy, if you spend half of your day getting money and the other half of your day counting money, you ain't got no time in your day to worry about nobody else.”

Banks didn't back down in the face of the rap star, however, firing right back with some tough words for Tip.

"Come on T.I.... N***** is not scared of u and whatever sh*t u got to say on some radio show," she wrote on Twitter, adding "You corny for that one."

Though tension has been building between the two budding female emcees with similar-sounding names, Iggy Azalea has been trying to downplay the beef, saying that she doesn't know Banks personally and therefore doesn't have a problem with her.
