Lil Wayne Takes Center Stage at SXSW
In a week that has already seen Jay-Z and Kanye West grace the stage, Lil Wayne became the most recent hip hop star to touchdown in Austin, TX for the South by Southwest music festival. Last night, Weezy took over the comparatively large space at the Austin Music Hall for a packed solo show, his first at the annual music showcase in the Lone Star state.
The Young Money head honcho was in high spirits, according to the Associated Press, telling the crowd at one point "I Believe I'm God" and offering to take home all the women in the audience who weren't happy with their dates.
Weezy's appearance continued what appears to be a running theme at the festival this year of high profile appearances by hip hop superstars. Earlier this week, Jay-Z rocked an exclusive concert that was live streamed around the world, and today (March 16), music network Fuse will broadcast Eminem's Shady 2.0 showcase, which will feature 50 Cent performing Get Rich Or Die Tryin' in its entirety for the first time ever.
Last night also featured performances by Snoop Dogg, T.I., Wale and B.o.B.
