How do you have an Aftermath reunion without Nate Dogg? If Dr. Dre has anything to say about it, you don't. According to reports, the legendary Cali producer has figured out a way for the late hip hop crooner to be present at his highly anticipated Coachella performance this weekend: hologram.

TMZ is reporting that Dre will use 3D projection technology to conjure Nate Dogg's image on stage during the show. He's said to be relying on the same tech that beamed Mariah Carey across five different stages simultaneously for a special Christmas concert last November.

Holograms, once the realm of science fiction, have become increasingly common with advances in digital projection technology. Aside from the Mariah Carey performances, CNN has occasionally used the technology in its news coverage dating back to the 2008 election cycle.

In addition to Dre and a digital Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg will co-headline the Aftermath Coachella performance, with Eminem, Kendrick LamarWarren G, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger rumored to be on hand as well.
