Pusha T Lil Wayne Beef

Lil Wayne recently stated that he has moved on past his differences with Pusha T, after reacting harshly to the G.O.O.D. Music MC’s fiery track “Exodus 23:1” several weeks ago. Well, Weezy may have gotten all worked up for nothing.

During an interview with New York’s Hot 97 radio personality Funkmaster Flex, Pusha denied that scathing song was a subliminal shot at Wayne and Drake. In fact he was quite surprised with the attention it stirred up.

“Why would that relate to Wayne or Drake?” he asked. I’ve never seen one record that didn’t say any names cause so much of a firestorm.”

As for the Young Money general’s “Goulish” response to “Exodus 23:1,” Pusha was not the least bit impressed.

“It was horrible. It was trash. It wasn’t good,” he said of the lyrics and the beat. “I didn’t like that either. Let me say this, I didn’t like it for that type of record. I didn’t feel like, in all honesty I haven’t said anything about it because I didn’t think it was good enough to respond to.”

Pusha suggested that it was in Wayne’s best interest to downplay the beef, given that there is not much to the conflict other than mere competitiveness. The Virginia native certainly doesn’t expect his differences with the YMCMB crew to get to the level of violence that erupted between Drake and Chris Brown last week.

“That’s crazy,” said of the bottle-throwing club melee that left several people injured. “I didn’t like it…bottles and cuts and all that. That’s weak.”

Rather than brawl it out with his rap foes, Pusha plans to let his music send a strong message on the highly anticipated G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer, which he revealed would be released on August 7.

You can catch the G.O.O.D. collective at the BET Awards '12 on July 1 as they are set to perform some of their undeniable hits.
