‘Ye and Pusha trade bars on the latest G.O.O.D. Music single.
G.O.O.D. Music's "New God Flow" hit the Internet late Monday after Kanye West gave the world a sneak preview during the Sunday night broadcast of the BET Awards. The new track, the latest single from the G.O.O.D. compilation Cruel Summer, finds Yeezy and Pusha T in tag team mode, trading high-octane rhymes over a haunting, boom-bap beat and Ghostface Killah sample.
"They said Pusha don't fit with the umbrella, but I was good with the yay as a wholesaler / I think it's good that 'Ye got a blow dealer. A hot temper mixed with a cold killer," Pusha rhymes early on. "I came aboard for more than just to rhyme with him / imagine '99 when Puff would've had Shyne with him."
In an interview with Vibe before the awards, Pusha described the concept of "New God Flow," acknowledging that the name was borrowed from a line in his 2011 solo single "My God."
"It's just upper-level hip hop," he said of the song. "It's just my way of saying that my level hip hop and level of lyricism is just Godly."
On his verse, which he performed a cappella at the BET Awards, West comes out of the gate swinging.
"Hold' up, I ain't tryin' to stunt, man, but the Yeezy's jumped over the Jumpman / Went from most hated to the champion God flow, I guess that's a feelin' only me and LeBron know," he starts.

In his Vibe interview, Pusha also confirmed that he recently recorded a song with fellow Virginian Chris Brown, although he said he didn't know what project the track would end up on. Cruel Summer is out on August 7.
