The pop star alleges ex money managers cost her millions and problems with the IRS.
Rihanna is learning firsthand the meaning of mo’ money, mo problems, but the pop siren is going hard after her former accountants for putting her in a financial quagmire.
With the IRS snooping around her finances, the New York Daily News reports that Rih Rih has filed a lawsuit against accounting firm Berdon LLP in Manhattan Federal Court accusing the company of breach of contract and negligence. According to the suit, the company failed to uncover millions in unpaid royalties and did not inform the unaware star as she continued to spend beyond her means. Filed under her real name, Robyn Fenty, the suit seeks unspecified damages for Berdon’s mismanagement of Rih’s earnings during her 2009 Last Girl on Earth Tour.
The Grammy Award-winning songstress, who has been with the firm since she began her music career in 2005, also blames them for fumbling her taxes. As a result the IRS is auditing the “Talk That Talk” singer for the tax years 2008 to 2010.
"Despite having earned millions of dollars in revenues during Berdon's tenure Fenty learned that her net income after payment of expenses and exorbitant commissions to defendant was a fraction of that amount," the suit read.
Rihanna fired Berdon last September when she became aware of the mishandling of her hard earned funds.
