Run DMC Reunites for Fun Fun Fun Festival

It’s been over a decade since Run-DMC has performed together. However, this fall will break the legendary hip hop group’s performance hiatus. The surviving members, Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, will come together this fall to hit the stage at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.

After the group's beloved deejay/producer Jam Master Jay was killed in 2002, Rev. Run and DMC retired the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group. But it was recently announced that one of hip hop pioneers would be among the performers for the festival that runs from November 2 to 4.

The organizers of the Fun Fun Fun Fest plan to donate some of the festival’s proceeds to the Jam Master Jay Foundation for Music, which is dedicated to providing funding and resources to support free public school music education programs. The foundation was created to continue Jam Master Jay’s legacy of creativity, positivity and community support.

While Jam Master Jay’s presence will surely be missed on stage, Run-DMC fans will have the opportunity to jam to some of the group’s greatest hits. If they perform any of their greats, such as “It’s Like That” and “My Adidas,” the crowd is sure to go crazy.
