Rihanna jetted to Barbados this week for one last goodbye to her “Gran Gran Dolly.” Between mourning her grandmother in Brooklyn last Friday, performing at the Barclaycard Wireless Festival in London on Sunday, and now laying her grandmother to rest in her hometown, the pop star has had an emotional week.
After posting a picture of herself with a bottle in hand to Instagram with the caption, “I had to!!! Sorry granny,” fans became concerned about the celebrity and how she’s coping with her loss.
Rih Rih was very close to her beloved grandmother, who died of cancer. She has been sharing her grief with fans on Twitter throughout the ordeal. The international star is also trying use her music as an outlet. She closed out the aforementioned Barclaycard Wireless Festival in London, performing a medley of hits including "We Found Love" and "Disturbia."
At least for now, Rihanna has no intention to slow down. She has a new show coming out in the U.K. called Styled to Rock, which focuses on finding the next top designer. Known for her groundbreaking fashion sense and unique style, the Barbadian music queen is sure to make the show a hit and continue to make her Gran Gran Dolly proud with all her success.
