Rick Ross made headlines earlier this month when he signed 21-year-old Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh. Recently rumors began to swirl that Ross made another addition to his Maybach Music Group label, none other than Miami hip hop artist Trina. The MMG founder sat down with Wild 94.9’s Nessa and refuted the hearsay. 

“Nah, I haven’t signed Trina yet or we haven’t done a deal yet,” said Ross. “I was actually in the studio with Trina maybe two weeks ago, and she was playing me a lot of her new music. Her and Meek Mill did a collaboration, me and her did a collaboration. We were just in the studio kicking it, having fun.”

The rapper’s statement suggests that Trina could be joining MMG in the future, and that he’s got his eye on her musically. Teedra Moses currently reigns as MMG’s first lady, but she fits in the R&B genre. So, there's definitely room for a female rap artist on the roster. 

Signing Trina to MMG could add to the label's growing success, as her most recent mixtape, Diamonds Are Forever, received over four million views in less than two days of being released. She’s currently prepping for the independent release of her sixth studio album, after having announced  in November her departure from her long-time label Slip-N-Slide Records.
