Beyoncé Writes Letter to Olympian Gabby Douglas

Bey calls the young gold medalist inspiring.

Beyoncé has a few words for Olympian star Gabby Douglas. Last week, the 16-year-old gymnast became the first African-American to win gold in the women’s gymnastics individual all around competition at the Olympics. She also became the first American to take gold in both the women’s gymnastics team competition and individual all around. Understandably, the young woman has become the talk of the world after making history, inspiring Queen Bey as well.

“A huge congratulations to 16 year old Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas – Wow – What a thrill to watch you take this gold,” wrote the singer on her website. “I can tell you’ve been working hard for so long – enjoy this moment, its yours. Thank you for inspiring all of us!”

The pop star is familiar with working hard at a young age, and thus, she and Gabby have a lot in common. While Douglas has a long career ahead of her, she continues to mesmerize countless individuals with her youthful talent.
