In its first week on the charts, Rick Ross’ fifth studio recording, God Forgives, I Don’t, has proven to be as unforgiving to the competition as advertised. The highly anticipated effort has nabbed the top spot on the Billboard charts with first-week sales reaching 218,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The chart-topping success of the LP — which features appearances by Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Usher and Nas, among others — makes this the fourth time Ross has had a No. 1 debut and it’s his highest first-week sales mark to date.
The Miami rap star celebrated the feat of having the top album in the country on Twitter where he showed his appreciation for his supporters.
"My 4th no. 1 album #GodGreat everyone who supported me & mine #thanku," Ross tweeted. "Great day to #Bossup."
And it looks like Ross plans to show further gratitude with a surprise release for fans next week.
"For everyone supporting #GFID I’m Dropping something #Unbelievable this Tuesday."
Congrats to the Bawse on his latest success and stay tuned to see what he has in store for his loyal supporters.
