50 Cent and Manny Pacquiao Near Boxing Promotions Deal

Could the rapper's friendship with Floyd Mayweather Jr. be in jeopardy?

50 Cent may be close friends with Floyd Mayweather Jr., but when it comes to his boxing promotion business, he's cozying up to one of Mayweather’s biggest rivals. The G-Unit general is reportedly close to inking a deal with Manny Pacquiao to start a new promotion company together.
"I love music, and he likes boxing also," Pacquiao told MTV News when asked about the gestating partnership. "We're talking about that and we're discussing. We didn't finalize yet because I'm so busy right now and he's busy right now."
According to Pacquiao's business adviser Michael Koncz, business discussions between Fif and Manny are serious and have been going on for quite some time.
"We've very close to it, I've been talking to 50 Cent now for over a month and a half, close to two months. It's becoming a reality, more than a possibility," Koncz said. "I think we're going to end up doing something together before the year is out."
But has 50's relationship with Pacquiao put his friendship with Money Team comrade Mayweather Jr. on the rocks? Koncz says no. In fact, the original plan was for all three parties to come together to form a kind of super group — something that may still happen.
"No, it's not because of this," Koncz said of a rumored recent rift between 50 and Floyd. "And I believe they have a true friendship and all true friends have arguments periodically, but that's not my business... Floyd is always welcome, if we put this together, the door will always be open for Floyd to join in... We don't have a problem with Floyd. Manny doesn't have any anger or resentment."
