This winter will see the return of two of last year's breakout artists — Big Sean and Bruno Mars. In recent days, both upstarts have announced details of their sophomore albums, both due later this year.

Grammy-nominated doo-wop crooner Bruno Mars has been in the studio "recording and writing whatever I want," he revealed in a recent interview with Billboard. The fruits of that liberated labor, a new LP titled Unorthodox Jukebox, will hit stores on December 11.

“This album represents my freedom,” he said.

The follow-up to 2010's Doo-Wops and Hooligans will feature production by Mark Ronson, Diplo, Jeff Bhasker and Mars' own group, The Smeezingtons, who also serve as executive producers.

Big Sean, meanwhile, has finally revealed the title for his own album number two after teasing the project in interviews for months. At a concert in Montreal last week, Sean revealed that the album will be called Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player.

“I decided to call my second album Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player 'cause we all strive to be the best," he told the crowd. "If you don’t do it to be the best, I don’t know why the f--k you do it. Hall of Fame is coming out for ya’ll this winter.”

In a recent interview with Complex, Sean said the still-gestating project was getting positive feedback from his peers.

"When I was playing it for Common, he was losing his mind. J. Cole was blown away," he said. "It really is elevating, taking it to a different level. I don’t even want to hype it up or talk too much like, 'Yeah, my album is the s--t!' I just can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been doing, what I’ve been cooking up."

A hard release date for the album hasn't yet been confirmed.
