Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream Reaches Top 3 in Debut

The singer's second album rises to the top of the charts.

Miguel's sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, has hit the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, a huge jump from his last album's debut. All I Want Is You came out in 2010 at No. 109 on the chart, selling 11,000 copies its first week. Kaleidoscope Dream sold 71,000, allowing for the record's rise in rankings. The album is also holding the number one spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

"Just want to personally thank everyone who purchased my sophomore album last week. WERE #3 on BILLBOARD thanks to YOU. #BLESSED," tweeted Miguel.

The LP's rankings are the L.A. native's best yet. The 25-year-old singer is responsible for its hot singles, such as "Adorn" and "Do You," which have been key in promoting the album, according to Nielsen SoundScan. DJ Drama is another artist who released an album the same week as the pop crooner. Drama's Quality Street Music got the No. 15 spot on the Billboard 200, selling 24,000 units. He also earned the No. 2 spot on the Independent Albums, Rap Albums, and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Both of the celebs are poised to continue their Billboard reign.
