Ne-Yo Doesn't Believe Lady Gaga Will Stand the Test of Time

The R&B star says you just don't see timeless artists anymore.

With over 23 million albums and 64 million singles sold worldwide since 2008, Lady Gaga still hasn't convinced Ne-Yo that she'll never go out of style. The UK Daily Star recently asked the new Senior Vice President of A&R at Motown what artist he thought could stand the test of time. Ne-Yo blatantly replied that he didn't believe it would be Gaga despite her immense talent.

"Everybody thought it was going to be Lady Gaga, but where is she right now? What's going on with her?" probed the R&B crooner. "Not to take anything away from her because she's ridiculously talented, but artists who stand the test of time — you just don't see those anymore."

On a mission to revamp the legendary Motown, Ne-Yo wants to put the record label back at the top of the charts like they were in the '60s. Admitting that the company wasn't always cutting edge, he did state that the label was reliable for soulful and good pop music.

"I feel now it's just about good music again," explained the singer-songwriter. "Motown needs to stand for quality music, period."

Under his leadership, Motown might just experience the rebirth its been waiting for. The multi-talented artist's standards are certainly high, particularly if Gaga doesn't strike the new music executive as having longevity.
