The Public Enemy rapper is due back in court next week.
Flavor Flav is out on bail after being arrested Wednesday for a lurid domestic violence incident involving his fiancée and her teenage son. The 53-year-old rapper and reality star, an icon for his work with Public Enemy, posted $23,000 bail and was released from a Las Vegas jail Thursday.
Flav, born William Drayton Jr., was arrested in the small hours of Wednesday morning after his fiancée called the police complaining that she had been assaulted. According to a police report, Flav and the woman, 39, got into a heated argument concerning the rapper's fidelity. She says she was thrown to the ground twice during the scuffle and had her earring ripped out. When her teenage son tried to intervene, Flav reportedly grabbed two knives and chased him around the house, threatening to use them.
The Flavor of Love star is due back in court next week on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence battery, a court spokesperson said. An assault conviction carries a maximum six-year prison sentence, while the domestic violence charge would be an additional six months.
