President Barack Obama is entering the final stretch of his final election campaign and he's pulling out all the stops for his last event on Monday. To perform at a rally in the battleground state of Ohio, the president has tapped his friend, supporter and hip hop superstar Jay-Z, the Associated Press reports.

Jay and Obama have been linked multiple times over the years, with the first black president frequently citing the rapper as one of his favorite artists and even appearing in a video presentation to attendees of his Made in America festival. In September, Jay and wife Beyoncé hosted a fundraiser for the president in New York.

"I've gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They're good people," Obama said of the power couple in a recent radio interview. "Beyoncé — could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends."

The campaign event will take place in the crucial battleground state of Ohio on the day before the election. Rock icon Bruce Springsteen will perform at an earlier event in Wisconsin, and Springsteen, Jay, the first lady and President Obama will all later pay a visit to Iowa. The president will end his night in Chicago, where he will remain during Election Day on Tuesday.
