As a rapper who is also a father, Saigon is fed up with mainstream rappers whom he believes are sending destructive messages to underage listeners. In a recent interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, the former freestyle king called out Rick Ross and 2 Chainz as well as anyone else who is "making detrimental music for children."

"These companies market music to children and y'all know that," he said.

Saigon suggested a new system where music with adult content is physically segregated from other kinds of music in a manner similar to the way pornography is kept separate from mainstream feature films. He argued that lyrical content with destructive messages for kids is a systemic problem that pervades the entire industry, including the vast majority of artists on the radio.

"For me to find progressive rap I gotta go search high and low and it's hidden," he said.

"I love hip hop, I grew up on hip hop," Saigon said, lamenting that more positive rap has fallen out of favor. "Even when LL Cool J came out, he wasn't talking about killing n---as and f---in' b--ches, he was talking about 'I Need Love' and wanting a relationship."
