Justin Bieber the Target of Foiled Murder Plot

Two men planned to assassinate the pop star.

Justin Bieber has millions of passionate fans around the world, but the pop superstar has caught the attention of some pretty scary foes as well. Yesterday news broke that an incarcerated man in New Mexico recently plotted to have the singer castrated and murdered during a tour stop in November.
The conspirator, Dana Martin, is currently serving two life sentences at Las Cruces prison in New Mexico for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in 2000. He has reportedly developed a dark obsession with Bieber while behind bars, even going so far as to tattoo the 18-year-old pop phenom on his leg, New Mexico's KRQE reports.
Martin hired another man whom he knew from prison, Mark Staake, to carry out an assassination attempt against Bieber. Staake recruited his nephew, Taylor Ruane, for the job, which they planned to execute while the superstar was in New York for a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden.
But Staake was arrested in Vermont for outstanding warrants before he could carry out the plot. Ruane continued on to New York to finish the job, but Martin apparently had second thoughts about the murder and came forward to police. The cops then picked up Ruane in NYC and brought him into custody. He was reportedly carrying pruning shears at the time.
Talk about cutting it close.
