The MMG rapper finally responds to his hometown rival with "Repo."
Happy holidays, hip hop heads. Nothing gets rap fans more excited than a good ol' fashioned diss track, and luckily for us, Meek Mill and Cassidy are more than willing to shoot the gift. After weeks of sniping online and interviews led to Cassidy releasing two songs going at Meek, the Maybach Music Group rapper replied with a diss track of his own, titled "Repo."
Meek dropped the song on Wednesday via the site of popular blogger Karen Civil in response to Cassidy's "Me, Myself and iPhone" and "Condom Style," a remake of PSY's inescapable hit "Gangnam Style." The on-wax row is the culmination of weeks of back-and-forth smack-talking between the two rappers, sparked by a false rumour that they had agreed to battle for $100,000.
Meek, who earlier in the month tweeted that "Condom Style" was "the worst song in the history of rapping," reiterated that sentiment on "Repo": "Really, f---in’ 'Condom Style,' get ya jig on / You a clown ass n---a, put a wig on," he rapped over the Jahlil Beats production.
Meek also lit into Cass' finances, questioning his ability to back up a $100,000 bet over a battle. "And you talkin’ ‘bout a battle rap, how you gonna handle that / 100 grand p---y n---a? You ain’t got the tag for that."
Cassidy's age was fair game for the MMG rapper as well. "I did 'I'ma Boss,' youngin' set the summer off/ Now these old n---as mad at me ‘cause they fallin’ off," Meek spit.
After the song was posted, Karen Civil claimed the traffic caused her blog to shut down, tweeting, "RIP Meek new record crashed my site!"
Meek sounded pretty triumphant as well. "Funeral too crowded fire marshall came!" he tweeted, before implying that this would be his last record aimed at Cassidy. "No more attention on broke n---a shit..... I'm done.... Time 2 get this money! Nothing else."
Cassidy, however, didn't seem very impressed by "Repo." "Where's the funeral?" he tweeted. "He expected to kill me wit that b-----t! 5 min song! Not 1 quotable bar! They need to repo his rap book."
Stay tuned—despite Meek's tweet, we have a feeling this is far from over.
