R&B Singer Fontella Bass Dies at 72

Her biggest hit was "Rescue Me."

R&B singer Fontella Bass died Wednesday in Missouri. She's best known for her 1965 hit song "Rescue Me."

According to Bass' family, the singer passed away in a St. Louis hospital from complications she suffered following a heart attack three weeks ago. Bass had suffered several strokes since 2005.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bass' four children and family.
