Yung Teddy Gunned Down After Death Threats

The Atlanta rapper was found dead hours after receiving ominous text.

Yung Teddy, the 23-year-old rapper from Atlanta, was found shot dead in his apartment Wednesday night. Hours before his murder, he reportedly received death threats to his cellphone, which he wrote about on Twitter.

"N----S WANNA SEE ME DEAD," Teddy, born Justin Mitchell, tweeted Wednesday.

Witnesses said two young men between the ages of 20 and 23 were seen near Mitchell's apartment the night he was slain, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police investigating the case are looking for the suspects.

Teddy released his debut mixtape, Swagtacular, in January 2009. The rapper’s death comes on the heels of death threats issued to two more prominent hip hop figures, Rick Ross and Gucci Mane, last month. Ross was reportedly forced to cancel two shows in North Carolina as a result. Gucci however went on to perform in Macon, GA, after being warned by a local Crips gang member not to appear in the city.
