"Baddie Bey" was inspired by the teen pop stars.
Beyoncé is used to being a role model for young girls and aspiring singers, but now she's revealing the influence that three up-and-coming teen pop stars have had on her. In a recent post to her Instagram, Bey gave a shout out to the OMG Girlz, whom she credited for inspiring her Instagram handle, "Baddie Bey."
In a video last November for MyIsh TV, the OMG Girlz called Bey one of their "all-time idols" and counted down "7 Reasons Why Beyoncé Is Such a Baddie."
Beyoncé was thankful for the love, and the nickname.
"Hey Beautiful Young Ladies," she began in one of her signature handwritten Instagram posts. "Thank you so much for the sweet things yall said. You named my instagam !!FYI!!"
Mrs. Carter ended the letter by saying she was "very proud" of the Atlanta trio and that she hoped to see them soon. Since joining Instagram in November, @baddiebey has amassed over one million followers.
