Atlanta rapper T.I. always has lots to talk about given his many side ventures. And in the February/March issue of The Source, Tip goes in about it all. He starts with his cameo appearance in the hilarious new comedy Identity Thief, starring Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids). “It’s my first comedy,” T.I. says.
Tip says he's looking to diversify his acting resume and wants to shy away from the stereotypical roles given to rappers in Hollywood. I just want to keep my tools sharp.… And as long as they ain’t giving me a rapper [role]," he tells The Source. "Anything else, I’d pretty much be open minded — within reason, of course."
The usually hard-core MC even shared his vulnerable side, discussing the criticism he received over his past legal troubles. "Everybody’s gonna have their ups and downs," he says. "Just because I’m a celebrity, doesn’t mean that I’m exempt from human-like faults.”
