Christina Aguilera Eyeing Return to The Voice

Singer negotiating $12 million deal to reclaim judging spot.

Shakira's out. Christina Aguilera is (back) in. There's a big shakeup on the horizon for NBC's The Voice, with Aguilera looking to reclaim the judging seat she temporarily gave up in order to focus on her music career.
A source close to the vocal powerhouse told The Hollywood Reporter that after one season away, Aguilera is in talks to head back to the singing competition for a $12 million fee.
NBC has not yet announced the platinum blonde beauty's return.
Aguilera is one of two judges — the second being Cee Lo Green who walked from the gig to take on other opportunities. Show producer Mark Burnett has always left the door open for old judges to return. "These are current touring artists, so it's a matter of balancing schedules," Burnett told THR last summer. "They're all in demand and we're just balancing it all."
Aguilera and Green, plus original judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, helped propel the show to a steady ratings grabber for the struggling network. Shakira and Usher signed on for season four, which kicked off in March. The new additions appear to be meshing well with Levine, Shelton and the audience at large. Since its season premiere, The Voice has gone head-to-head with Fox's American Idol, slightly edging out the show's first hour last week after a small dip in the ratings.
Going into the 2013-14 season, NBC announced that The Voice will hold on to its Monday night two-hour schedule, but will move to one-hour episodes on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
