Kirk Franklin Launches New SiriusXM Channel

The gospel superstar is set to take over the airwaves with Kirk Franklin's Praise.

For over 2 decades, Kirk Franklin has been the de facto face of gospel music, with his infectious energy and undeniable charisma. So it's only fitting the multi-platinum selling crossover gospel artist get his own channel on SiriusXM.

The station formerly known as Praise will now be Kirk Franklin's Praise, and will be available on channel 64 on Friday, May 24 at 12 p.m EST.

The 43-year-old spiritual soul singer will celebrate the launch of his new station with a live performance followed by a Q&A session, which will be featured as a part of SiriusXM's "Artist Confidential" series.

Listeners will be able to hear the live performance in its entirety on Franklin's new channel Monday, May 27 at 8 a.m. EST, with intermittent replays throughout the week.

The Q&A will also be available on SiriusXM OnDemand for those with the Radio App or listening via the Internet.

The seven-time Grammy winner released a statement expressing his excitement about his new partnership with SiriusXM.

"I am so honored and excited to be able to have this platform to bring music fans the biggest stars and the freshest new talents in gospel music," said Franklin. "Over the years, Sirius/XM has shown a real commitment to gospel music and I am proud to be working alongside their staff to build this new channel."

For their part, SiriusXM added, "We are thrilled to have Kirk Franklin bring his passion and enthusiasm to SiriusXM and help change how gospel music is heard," noted Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Blatter.

Franklin is not only a favorite among fans, but many fellow musicians, both religious and secular, have collaborated with the 43-year-old.

For those that were already fans of Praise, regular hosts like Gina Rogers, Meta Washington and Fred Mills will continue to serve as regular hosts, and Pastor Rudy Rasmus' uplifting show about love and life, Love Revolution, will continue to air as well.

In addition to this latest venture, the "Revolution" singer has also been working with the House of Blues to take their weekly Gospel Brunch to a whole new level.
