Surgery forces OutKast rapper to reschedule shows.
Big Boi has been forced to postpone his Shoes for Running tour due to knee surgery. With Killer Mike as his opening act, Big Boi was just over a month into the tour, which was scheduled to hit Nashville tomorrow (May 30).
"We starting it off in my own backyard," he told Rolling Stone prior to the April 18 Athens, GA, kick-off date.
Earlier today, the Atlanta MC Instagrammed a post-surgery photo of himself in a wheelchair with the hash tag "backoutcheain6weeks." All missed dates will be pushed to the fall.
Mike offered more insight, tweeting, "Guys Big Boi hurt his knee. Surgery today n 6weeks rest. Shows will be moved to Sept. I'm told. Dre3ks Mom passed n Its best we all home."
While his tour mate is in recovery, and as the Dungeon Family deals with their loss, Mike plans to set out on a trek promoting his Run the Jewels free LP alongside collaborator El-P. That jaunt will wrap up at New York City's Webster Hall August 14.
