Rihanna Unapologetic Billboards Dressed Up

Dublin citizens cover Rih Rih posters with clothing.

While most people want to undress Rihanna, someone in Ireland wants the pop star to remain clothed. Billboards of Rih Rih's revealing Unapologetic cover art have been covered up with dresses in Dublin.

The larger than life-sized posters promoting Rihanna's upcoming show at the Aviva Stadium (Jun. 21) used the same image as her album cover — the topless "Diamonds" singer with one elbow shielding one breast and the word "unapologetic" scrawled across the other. A Dublin local [or two] — with a bit of a fashion consciousness — stapled strapless dresses to them in just the right place.

Photos of the cover up have gone viral. Twitter user Paul Duane posted a photo with the note, "Somebody has stapled a dress to this Rihanna poster on Church St. Well done, you complete nutcase." Charlene Lydon tweeted another clothed billboard, adding, "North King Street, Dublin says a resounding NO to Rihanna's boobs!"

At least one other billboard has been dress-bombed.

Elsewhere in Ireland, when Rihanna went topless during her 2011 "We Found Love" video shoot on a Northern Ireland farm, the farmer also insisted that the Bad Gal remain clothed. Reportedly he found her "state of undress" to be "inappropriate." "I had a conversation with Rihanna," he said. "I hope she understands where I'm coming from. We shook hands."

Stateside, another poster of a scantily clad Beyoncé was covered as well. Residents in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and locals in NYC's Lower East Side covered her bikini-clad bod, shown in an H&M ad. The New Yorkers simply used paper.

Neither Bey nor Rih have responded to the "protests." Rih's timeline, instead, is busy with her excitement for her Diamonds World Tour. She's posted numerous Instagram pics, including some from Stade de France, where she became the youngest artist, and one of the few Black artists, to headline the 800,000 seat arena. That show was sold out.
