Business mogul partnered with Time Warner Cable for new channel.
Diddy's dream for Revolt TV just became reality. The business mogul has officially announced that he's partnered with Time Warner Cable to launch his new music-focused channel, and he did so, of course, via a video clip and a commercial.
In the video clip, Diddy is followed by a camera as he enters the Time Warner headquarters in NYC and signs the terms of agreement between his team and the media powerhouse. The commercial gives a inkling of what will broadcasted, opening with a close up of him proclaiming, "the revolution will be televised."
According to the New York Post, Revolt TV is scheduled to be available in October.
“It is rare in this time to be able to get carriage and to get a company as prestigious as Time Warner to believe in you and to commit to you,” Diddy humbly told The Post.
He took a more revolutionary stance, however, when presenting to potential advertisers at the Cannes Lions Festival, saying that he, "hates watching commercials." So, he's suggesting, he wants to work only with marketers who are focused on creating great content. “It would be almost not right to get in a partnership with somebody when we know we can’t deliver the audience."
Time Warner is the nation's second largest cable company with approximately 12 million subscribers. In addition to music programming, Revolt TV has promised to deliver live content, mobile and social media integration, and a focus on urban markets.
