"The city needs to stick together," Big Sean tweeted Saturday (Aug. 10), bringing a public end to his beef with Danny Brown. The Detroit natives were battling over their respective loyalty to the Motor City, but Sean squashed the disagreement telling a fan that the two "talked like men," and "got it all squared away."
Brown gave his seal of approval by retweeting Sean's post.
The beef kicked off after Brown claimed the G.O.O.D. Music rapper was from a different part of the city. "You listen to how I talk about Detroit, and you listen to how a rapper like Big Sean talk about Detroit, and it’s like we’re talking about two different cities," he told The Fader. "Which is probably true, because Detroit is that type of city — he went to the best high school in the city, you know, he probably was real spoiled or sheltered, so it’s like two different worlds."
In response, Sean said "F--- whoever talking about Big Sean and don't know nothing about Detroit, or the streets of Detroit," and pointed to his charity work. "I'm the only one out of y'all rappers or even new rappers who was paying for Thanksgiving dinners last year, buying Christmas gifts. So if you ever talking s--- about me like I ain't be up in the hood, n---- you crazy."
Settling the score couldn't come at a better time, because the last thing Detroit needs is more turmoil. The city filed for bankruptcy protection last month.
