Kanye West Attends Grandfather's Funeral
Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and their newborn daughter flew to Oklahoma over the weekend to attend the funeral of the rapper's grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., a source confirmed to People.
Kardashian skipped her little sister Kylie Jenner's birthday bash and hopped on a private plane out of California with West and baby "Nori" sometime Saturday (Aug. 17). "That's why they weren't at Kylie's birthday," the source said. "They brought North too. Her first trip."
Williams, 98, passed away on Aug. 10. Speaking to the New York Daily News earlier this year, he called Kardashian, 32, "just as sweet as she is beautiful." West secretly flew his girlfriend out to Oklahoma City to meet his grandfather in February.
The pair welcomed their daughter in June and although the public has yet to see the baby, she has been making the rounds. Photographers spotted the new family at a doctor's appointment in Los Angeles last week. Prior to her birth, West vowed to keep her privacy a priority. "This is not America's baby," he told the New York Times.
Although West and Kardashian weren't able to make Jenner's party, the G.O.O.D. Music honcho's rap comrades Drake and Big Sean were among those in attendance.
