Kanye West Cleared of Felony Charge in LAX Fight
Kanye West can breathe a bit easier in the continued unfolding of the July 19 scuffle with a paparazzo at the Los Angeles International Airport. According to the AP, the L.A. County district attorney announced Friday (Aug. 16) that the rapper will not face a felony charge for the incident, confirming earlier speculation that he would be cleared.
Prosecutors cited that the photographer did not sustain a significant injury and it's unknown if his camera was damaged. They also made note of West's lack of a felony record and that there was no weapon used in the incident.
The D.A. will send the case to the city attorney's office, where it will be determined if Yeezy should face any misdemeanor charges.
As of press time, there's been no update on what's happening on the civil side.
