Kanye West Pleads Not Guilty in Paparazzo Scuffle

'Ye faces up to a year in jail, if convicted.

Kanye West asserts that he's not guilty in a fight with a photographer at LAX over the summer.  'Ye's lawyer, Blair Berk, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf Thursday (Nov. 7), TMZ reports.

Ramos approached West as he was leaving the airport in July, antagonizing the G.O.O.D. Music leader about his previous run-ins with paps. West responded by trying to wrestle a camera out of Ramos' hands. The confrontation left Ramos requesting medical attention, something West has argued was a ploy to file a lawsuit.

West was slapped with misdemeanor criminal battery and attempted grand theft as a results, but claims self-defense. He maintains that his "safety was in immediate danger" because of Ramos, and reacted in a way that was "reasonable and necessary."

On the contrary, Ramos accuses West of causing him "great pain," and has filed a civil suit against the music star.

If convicted of the aforementioned misdemeanors, West could face up to a year behind bars.
