Joke from Questlove ignites social media feud.
Don't mess with Solange Knowles on Twitter, or things could get heated.
The argument started after Questo jokingly tweeted, "BREAKING NEWS: The #ReEnLISTment the new album by #LittleBrother in the works!!!!"
Phonte didn't see the humor and tweeted back, "I don't' know what to make of this 'The Secret' meets Asperger's s--- @questlove is on right now. but there is no LB project. Thanks."
Of course the war of words could've easily ended there, but Phonte brought Knowles into his online squabble. "@questlove Please stay out of other people's affairs, man," he posted. "You don't see me tweeting s--- about you and @solangeknowles do you? Chill."
Knowles tweeted back, "@phontigallo n---- stop lying @ YOU sir Got me f---ed allll the way up."
The two briefly went back and forth until Phonte suggested they take the discrepancy off the Internet, and with that, the beef was ended. "Just got off the horn with the lovely @solangeknowles and all is well, y'all. It's just jokes. Now playing #DeepBrandyAlbumCuts to unwind," he wrote, referencing one of Sol's personal theories about music.
Knowles did oblige to keep the beef offline, promising only to keep her tweets up for "street creed," but she later deleted the evidence later and had her moment of serenity swept away by another potential beef, this time with producer Dev Hines (a.k.a. Blood Orange), who worked on her True EP.
Hines sent shots at Knowles believing she was speaking ill of him, yet she didn't take the bait. "I have only ever praised you and spoken about you positively, even when our perspectives were totally different. I still support your artistry & am extremely happy for your success," she tweeted.
Unfortunately it looks like Hines isn't interested in reconciling yet. "Your friends will be the first to turn on you," he tweeted Monday (Nov. 25).
