Rihanna Fan Admits to Faking Homophobic Instagram Post

Member of the singer's "Navy" fesses up to social media scheme.

One of Rihanna's fans has far too much time on his hands. According to TMZ, an Instagram user by the name of Benvoy Seals photoshopped a homophobic comment allegedly written by the Bajan beauty.

Last night on Instagram, Seals posted what looked like one of the 26-year-old's "RIHplies," telling him he's going to hell for being gay.

The timing was pretty bad since it just happened to be Rihanna's birthday. Plus, she recently tweeted support for Russia's Principle 6 campaign, which speaks out against homophobia in the country currently hosting the Winter Olympics.

Before Seals could stir up too much controversy, he owned up to the fake comments telling TMZ, "I lied, I don't know why. I just did."

He also posted a statement on Instagram apologizing for potentially running her birthday but based on her real Instagram posts, Rih is hardly preoccupied with Seals' attempt to cause trouble. She and friends have been partying in Aspen all week.
