T-Pain Announces the I Am T-Pain Tour

Rapper-turned-singer is gearing up for a 34-date North American trek.

T-Pain is taking his show on the road for a 34-date North American jaunt kicking off this week, reports Billboard

The I Am T-Pain tour begins Thursday (March 6) at Sacramento's Ace of Spades music venue and will make big city stops in Chicago, Las Vegas and Phoenix. Additional shows will go down in smaller towns like, Emporia, Kan., Missoula, Mont., and Merced, Calif. The trek will also make stops in Canada.

T-Pain's tour is in promotion of his forthcoming album (due out later this year) Stoicville: The Phoenix, his first release since 2012's Revolver. The Florida native's first single for the set, "Up Down," featuring B.O.B., is still in the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs charts after being released back in August.

In a Vibe interview last year, the two-time Grammy winner described the work on his fifth studio album as his "happy place" and the Stoicville title as derived from a made up destination in his mind, where he's been secretly kicking back all this time.

"That's where I've been hiding at," he said. "When little kids cover their faces, that's the place that they go. Everybody is so stoic because that's everybody's happy place. That's where we all need to be. We all need a place like that."

Stoicville: Phoenix is scheduled to drop sometime this year. The I Am T-Pain tour wraps up in Texas, May 10.
