Report: Chief Keef at the Scene of Chicago Shooting

Rapper was near early-morning shooting that left one victim hospitalized.

UPDATE: The shooting location has been confirmed as the home of Chief Keef's manager in Northfield, Ill. Keef's lawyer told the Chicago Tribune that the rapper "did not see anything," but was in the car that transported the shooting victim to the hospital.

The injured party is said to be "some sort of acquaintance" of his. Various reports say Keef was also taken into custody after the incident.

Chief Keef just can't seem to steer clear of trouble, especially when guns are in the picture.

This time around, Keef was reportedly at the scene of a shooting early Wednesday (March 26) in the area of Northfield, roughly 19 miles from the Windy City. The "F--k Rehab" rapper, born Keith Cozart, wasn't involved in the violence, he "just happened to be present" when shots rang out, according to TMZ. It is unknown why he was near the scene.

An unidentified victim was taken to the NorthShore Skokie Hospital and is "recovering in the the intensive care unit," Northfield Police announced. As of this afternoon, two streets near the crime scene were blocked off to "facilitate an ongoing investigation," the department said in a press release. No motive has been revealed and no arrests have been made.

Keef, usually pretty active on social media, hasn't made any public comment about the early-morning incident, but he has continued to post pictures of guns in recent days

The 18-year-old just got out of rehab last month and was busted for a DUI two weeks later.

In early 2013, he served 60 days on a probation violation (for participating in an interview at a gun range) stemming from a weapons charge; and in 2012, Chicago police investigated his tweets joking about the death of slain teen rapper Joseph "Lil JoJo" Coleman.
