Drake Drops 'Draft Day' Song for Johnny Manziel

Is Drizzy taking a shot at Jay Z on Johnny Football tribute?

Eager ears can rest easy, Drake has responded to Jay Z's "corny art talk" diss. Maybe.

The YMCMB rapper casually let loose a new freestyle on April Fools' Day called "Draft Day," reports Complex, dedicated to the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel, who happens to sport an "OVO" tatt on his wrist, and who is on his way to visit the Patriots today as part of the NFL pre-draft season. It's Drake's first one-off since Hov himself called him out on virtual wax via a freestyle over "We Made It."

Drake posted the song to his SoundCloud, alerting fans via his Twitter page. "Draft Day," he wrote in one message. "Suit and ties yelling out pay the guys," he wrote in the next a line from his freestyle.

Boi-1da and The Fam produced the beat, chopping up and looping a Lauryn Hill sample from "Doo Wop (That Thing)."

"Draft day, Johnny Manziel," Drake opens over the track. "Five years later, how am I the man still?" He then proceeds, in his typical aloof fashion, to not name check Jay at all, despite the prodding of hip hop fans, including the likes of 50 Cent. But he does say, "Just hits, no misses/ That's for the married folks."

Shot fired?

Meanwhile, he did namedrop Jennifer Lawrence (he fancies her), Chance the Rapper (he's not so fond of that name) and Andrew Wiggins (rumored to be signing to Roc Nation Sports). And he closes it out with a nod to his beef with Rolling Stone: OVO affiliate, OB OBrien does an impersonation of famed Canadian football export Dan Hawkins, saying, "That's why I don’t read the news, it's garbage. And the editor that wrote the thing, he’s garbage. Got guys on my back about schedule, saying it's too tough. Well, guess what? It's Division-1 football! It's the SEC! Heck, you pledged, didn't ya? Go play intramurals, brother. Go play intramurals."
