Nicki Minaj Drops "Chi-Raq" Featuring Lil Herb
Put another point on the score board for Nicki Minaj.
Two months after she stirred up a little trouble with "Lookin A--," the Queens-bred beauty takes us to "Chi-raq" on her latest track, which teams her with Chicago up-and-coming rapper Lil Herb.
At this point, it's safe to say that Minaj's Barbie character is taking a permanent backseat to the lyrically acerbic alter ego she's been showcasing again lately. On "Chi-raq," the 31-year-old becomes a verbal assassin over the thumping beat (produced by Boi-1da, Vinylz and Allen Ritter).
She also makes quick of the controversy her last track caused, rhyming, "Malcolm X's daughter came at me/Lookin' A-- N----s, and they ain't happy." After Minaj wraps up the verse, Herb jumps on board to close things out.
Minaj has been dropping a steady stream of new rap bars lately. Besides "Chi-Raq" and "Lookin A--," she remixed Young Thug's "Danny Glover" and "Boss A-- B---" by Los Angeles rap group PTAF.
Her new album, The Pinkprint, is due out this year.
