Drake Surprises Terminally Ill Cancer Patient

OVO rapper fulfills dying wish of 15-year-old Kennedy Brown.

A 15-year-old cancer patient got a huge surprise from Drake over the weekend. Kennedy Brown of Houston is battling stage-four brain cancer and her dying wish of meeting Drizzy came true over the weekend.

The brave teen can thank a special group of friends for the Drake visit. Six of her closest buddies threw her a surprise prom and spearheaded the social media campaign #DrakeForKen in hopes that the OVO rapper would respond.

"To see her go through this it just makes me really sad," said Lyric Baldridge, who helped organize the prom in just two days.

"We realized we need to do this [prom] for her so that she can get this experience that we’re all going to get,” added another friend, Besty Goodfriend.

Brown was diagnosed two years ago and is currently in hospice care. Her friends dressed in prom attire and the youngster reportedly "lit up" with excitement upon seeing the surprise, but there was much more in store for her.

Drake picked up on the #DrakeForKen hashtag and promptly made his way to Houston Saturday (April 12). He met with Brown and her family and posted a bunch of photos with the teen alongside sweet and silly captions, including one calling her a "beautiful angel" and another about his infamous eyebrows. “She asked to touch the brows #accessgranted,” he wrote.

Dropping in on Brown clearly left an impression on the Toronto native. He looked as excited to meet Brown as she was to meet him and called the entire experience "incredible" on Instagram.

Like Brown, Drake knows a thing or two about having his dreams come true, especially in regards to the ESPY Awards, which he will host this summer. "It's been a dream of mine for a long time," he told ESPN's NBA Countdown recently.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner is an avid sports fan and plans to show off more of his comedic side during the ceremony. "I've got a lot of friends that play for a lot of different teams... I'm just excited to see those guys in one room, poke a little fun, in a classy way of course, but to see those guys laugh it'll be great," he said.

The ESPY Awards take place July 16 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater at L.A. Live.
