City council approves August show for Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
Jay Z and Beyoncé have been approved to hold a concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., this August. On Tuesday (April 22) city council members green-lighted the show, making it the 18th major event scheduled for the Rose Bowl in 2014.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter are rumored to be teaming with Live Nation for a 20-city joint tour this summer. The couple has yet to officially confirm the jaunt, which will be the first time they have toured together.
The stadium is usually limited to a dozen large-scale performances in a single calendar year, but council members opted to further expand the limit to include the superstar couple.
"I think this is a great opportunity for the city of Pasadena to get behind," Councilwoman Jacque Robinson said. "I'm glad to see the promoters considered Pasadena as an option for this concert, which I'm confident will be sold out."
Hov has packed the Rose Bowl before, just not with his wife. He and Justin Timberlake brought their Legends of the Summer tour to the venue last July.
