Jay Z Verse Angers Lacrosse Players

Hov's line on "They Don't Love You No More" strikes a chord with professional sports league.

Jay Z's latest lyrical shot at Drake has touched a nerve with the lacrosse community. On the DJ Khaled track "They Don't Love You No More," released Monday (April 28), Hov calls Drizzy "soft as a lacrosse team," prompting the league to issue a rebuttal to his metaphorical jab.

“Lacrosse is often called the fastest sport on two feet. Players are on the field dodging and shooting balls at over 100 miles per hour,” a spokesperson for Major League Lacrosse said in a statement to MTV News. “With that said we don’t think Jay Z knows what he’s talking about when he calls Lacrosse ‘soft’ I can guarantee you it is anything but a ‘soft’ sport.”

He was clearly aiming at October's Very Own when he made the quip, yet the MLL extended an invite for the 44-year-old Brooklyn MC to put his lyric to the test. “Mr. Carter would not last one minute on a lacrosse field during a match and he is more than welcome to come to any of our games and try.”

Jay took the lacrosse shot after Drake playfully commented that Jay was probably "somewhere eating a fondue plate."

The remark was made after Jigga Man called the 27-year-old Grammy winner out on the Jay Electronica remix to "We Made It," but there is no actual reported beef between the two. If there is any pent up frustration, maybe they can hash it out on the lacrosse field.

Until that day comes, it doesn't look like Mr. Carter will be accepting the MLL's invitation.
