The first ever iHeartRadio Awards went down on Thursday (May 1) and Rihanna was the big winner for the night. The “Stay singer took home a whopping four awards: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Fan Army, and Hip-Hop/ R&B Song of the Year.
Dressed in a head-to-toe "ghetto"-Goth look, complete with iridescent emerald green lips, Bantu knots, and a black lace revealing gown, Rih Rih arrived late to the award show. But that didn't stop her from beating out some tough competition. Her song "Stay" featuring Mikky Ekko won over her mentor Jay Z and Justin Timberlake's summer anthem "Holy Grail."
While Rihanna shinned bright like a diamond, she wasn’t the only star of the night. Michael Jackson made history again, when his first posthumous single "Love Never Felt So Good," was revealed by Usher.
Usher, whose moves are undoubtedly influenced by the King of Pop, put on a dance performance to the late great's new single.
Kendrick Lamar also put on a stellar performance, backed by a four-piece band, he channeled Tupac before getting into his own "m.A.A.d. City." But the night couldn't end officially without a performance from Pharell, who performed his infectious Grammy Award-winning hit "Happy."
