André 3000 Working on Solo Album

Three Stacks confirms that his new music project is coming.

Andre 3000 is prepping a solo album, he confirmed with Hip Hop Wired during the Governor's Ball in New York last Friday (June 6) night.

Apart from verifying that a project is in the works, Dre didn't give any specific details about the release. He will reportedly be taking his time in putting the project together.

The album rumors have been swirling for a while now, due in part to the wishful thinking of OutKast fans, and even Big Boi at one point. Dre on the other hand hasn't been as forthcoming about putting together an album of his own, or a group release. In 2012 interview with GQ magazine, he announced that there were "no plans for another OutKast album" but said that there's "a lot of music on the horizon."

Last summer, BET President of Music Programming Stephen Hill tweeted a conversation with Dre where the ATLien once again pointed to a solo album that was supposed to come out at the top of 2014. After the story spread, the 39-year-old rapper's publicity team released a statement to Billboard denying "official confirmation" of a solo album.

Now that we're halfway through the year, fans can rest assured that Three Stacks is at least moving closer to making more music and maybe (if we're lucky) a new OutKast album.
