Drake Drops Out of Wireless Festival

Drizzy cancels performance due to illness, Kanye West will take his place.

Drake has dropped out of his headlining spot at the U.K.'s Wireless Festival due to an undisclosed illness. The 27-year-old rapper, who was scheduled Friday (July 4) and Saturday shows, broke the bad news today.

"To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won't be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend," he said in a statement.  "I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me."

His focus will be on "resting for a quick recovery," he said. "I have the best fans in the world and I can't wait to come back to make more incredible memories together."

No Drizzy means more Yeezy for festival attendees. Kanye West will take over for Drake on top of headlining his own night.

Drake's mystery illness may have kept him from showing up at the BET Awards last Sunday after attending the BET Experience the night before.
