"Good Kisser" singer, Ariana Grande and more slated to take the MTV stage.
Usher is making his return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage.
The announcement comes fresh off the release of his latest single, the Pharrell-produced "She Came to Give It to You" featuring Nicki Minaj, and his own guest spot alongside Rick Ross on Chris Brown's "New Flame."
Not to mention the spins "Good Kisser" has received. The first listen from his as yet untitled eighth studio album (expected later this year from RCA) has rotated its way to No. 1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart this week and was a show-stealing moment when he used it to conclude a medley of his hits at the 2014 BET Awards (watch it again in the video below).
Ariana Grande and MTV's Artist to Watch, the Australian pop-punk band, 5 Seconds of Summer, are also scheduled to take the VMA stage. The show will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on August 24.
Usher first performed on the VMA stage in 2004, delivering "Confessions" and "Yeah!," and in 2010, The Voice coach gave a rendition of his "OMG" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love."
Last year's awards, held at Barclays Center in New York, drew in 10.1 million viewers, a 66% jump from 2012.
