Report: Beanie Sigel Released From Prison

Philly MC ends two-year sentence for drug possession and tax evasion early.

Beans is back! After serving more than two years in prison for tax evasion and drug possession, Beanie Sigel has been released.

While it is unclear when he got out, a photo of Beanie was tweeted this morning (Aug. 14) by Wayno of Triangle Offense Management. He captioned the image, "My n---a back."

Siegel had been serving out his time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania. The Federal Bureau of Prisons website lists his release date as 12/4/2014.

The Philly-born rapper, whose birth name is Dwight Grant, copped a two year bid for tax evasion on top of two years for drug possession. He's been locked up since 2012 and was ordered to serve the terms concurently.

It's not uncommon for inmates to get an early release. Fat Joe and Lauryn Hill were both freed early on tax-related convictions and Lil Boosie, who was exonerated on murder but remained in prison for drug charges, shaved time off by completing substance abuse courses behind bars.
