Rapper claims ex Roc-A-Fella Records mogul is a "thief."
Jim Jones aired out his onetime business partner Damon Dash on Instagram Monday (Aug. 25). Jones posted a photo of Dash captioned, "This n---a here is th [sic] real culture vulture n a thief f--- f----t lol back to my day."
Jones didn't give an explanation as to why he lashed out at Dash, who quickly responded. The 43-year-old former Roc-A-Fella Records mogul is usually ready to ignite a verbal fire, but with Jones he took a more diplomatic approach. "I'm not sure what exactly would make @jimjonescapo disrespect me publicly or any kind of way but if it's over money or Buisness [sic] i really don't think that's the most productive way to deal with things...but I'm always open for discussion as long as we speak as men," he wrote next to an old picture of the two. "I would never be ignorant enough to get on some tuff s--- That's what's killing our culture... I have nothing but love for you despite your disrespect."
Dash, who called record executive Lyor Cohen a "culture vulture" and "fake CEO" two months ago, urged Jones to help him "lead by example" and kill the beef because it's not "productive for the culture."
"Please don't try to make a positive thing look negative," Jones continued. "If you have a real issue we can talk about it. my daughter is on this Instagram.... And I love your family my n----… Let's hug it up.... We dont [sic] need to be fighting #harlemstickstogether."
Jones and Dash worked together on the rapper's Vampire Life brand. In January, an investor filed a $200,000 lawsuit against Jones for misusing money alloted for a Vampire Life film.
