Jay Z to Join Rihanna During NFL Kickoff Performance

Roc Nation to open the football season with "Run This Town."

The Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks face off tonight, but not before Jay Z and Rihanna set it off with a "dream scenario" performance of Hov's hit "Run This Town."

The two-time Grammy Award-winning song features his Bajan Roc Nation signee and longtime producer Kanye West, who just leaked some new music of his own ("Awesome") via Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Both Jay and Rihanna are fresh off major tours (Jay with his wife, Beyoncé — happy birthday, Bey! — and Rih, with her "Monster" collaborator, Eminem).

Don Cheadle is slated to add to the dramatics with "a customized preview of the game," reports Fox Sports. The segment was filmed in an airplane hangar, produced and directed by 28-time Emmy Award-winning producer Pete Radovich. The song will serve as the official Thursday Night Football theme when the 16-game run moves to CBS next week.

"This open combines one of music's biggest stars with one of the most dynamic actors in Hollywood," said Radovich, prior to the announcement of Jay Z's appearance. Radovich also serves as CBS's creative director. "The energy that both talents provide gives the opening to every Thursday night the big-game, prime-time feel it deserves. It is a dream scenario for any director."

The 2014 NFL season opens at 8:30 p.m. ET in Seattle at the CenturyLink Field on NBC. The Packers are 3-1 from the pre-season, and the Seahawks, current reigning Super Bowl champions, are 2-2.
