Days after revealing that her new music is the best she’s ever done, Alicia Keys is finally sharing some of that work with the world.

The “Girl on Fire” singer posted an open letter on Facebook earlier today (Sept. 8) along with her new music video for her latest single, “We Are Here.” The visuals deliver a hint of nostalgia recalling early music videos from the Grammy Award winning star. A. Keys is seen rocking her once-signature long, braided locks, while playing a piano solo with the New York skyline in the backdrop.

“The day I wrote this song, I was sitting in a circle of people of all ages and we were asked, ‘Why are you here?’ Keys wrote. “As I prepare to give birth to a new child, I can’t help and think about the world I’m bringing my baby into. No matter where we come from, when we see the state of the world today, we can all feel the growing frustration and desire to make a difference. And we all have a voice we just need to know how to make it heard.”

From behind the piano, Keys sings an empowering ballad as the New York skyline in the backdrop drives her message home. Keys and her hubby, Swizz Beatz, are expecting their second child together in December right around the time fans could expect her sixth studio album.
